Puerto Banus Area Guide

Puerto Banus – Glamorous, glitzy, exciting!

Puerto Banus

Visited annually by nearly 5 million people, Puerto Banus is the place to see and be seen.
Located in between Marbella and San Pedro de Alcantara, it initially looks like a developed Spanish fishing village but was actually built in 1970 by local developer, Jose Banus, as a luxury marina and shopping complex.

The focal point is the marina which has berths for 915 boats, owned by several of the world’s wealthiest people, including the King of Saudi Arabia!!!  The harbour is lined with boutiques selling luxury designer goods that reflect the lifestyle of the visitors to the area.  The bars and restaurants are an ideal place to sit and people watch during the day and at night the streets in the surrounding area come alive, especially during the summer months, with both locals and tourists seeking the glamorous nightlife it has to offer.

While shopping is a big event here with a huge ‘Selfridges style’ department store and an excellent Saturday market in addition to the designer shops and boutiques, there are excellent golden beaches each side of the harbour, luxurious beach clubs and promenades leading west to San Pedro or east to Marbella.

Puerto Banus is an ideal choice for buyers who require a prestigious address, close to first class amenities, beautiful beaches, fabulous shopping opportunities and lively, glamorous nightlife.  A 10 minute drive takes you to Marbella and 5 minutes drive west to San Pedro de Alcantara.  Malaga airport is a 30 minute drive away via the AP7 motorway.
